I'm rewatching Boy Meets World on @disney+ and it is as good, or even better, than I can remember. The subjects and themes discussed throughout the series are just as relevant today as they were in the '90's when the show ran on television. Inequality, sexism, racism, segregation, moral values, what it means to be human, friendship, love, gender, family, bodily consent and autonomy, it has it all. There should be more shows like these set in this time (meaning with a more diverse cast). Boy Meets World is a perfect example of how popular culture can (help) change perspectives, opinions and culture, while being a fun, warm, lighthearted (teen)show. I absolutely loved the more female focused reboot of Girl Meets World, and thought it was such a shame that it got cancelled. #boymeetsworld #corymatthews #topangalawrence #shawnhunter #disney #popularculture #visualculture Thank you for being legends @bensavage @daniellefishel @rider_strong
"Indonesian authorities raided a university dormitory in Surabaya on Saturday and arrested dozens of West Papuan students after a standoff over allegations the Indonesian flag was thrown into a sewer. Officers broke down the gates of the Surabaya building and used teargas to clear the rooms, taking 43 people into custody on the Indonesian Independence Day weekend."text via @guardian @vembriwaluyas #papua
